Tuhan Yeshua Tidak Pernah Mati

Tuhan Yeshua tidak pernah mati, ya memang, ketuhanan Yeshua tidak pernah mati. Ada salah paham di kalangan kekristenan di Indonesia di sini. Mereka menyangka Tuhan itu bisa mati. Mengapa ini bisa terjadi? Jawabnya karena ada kesalahan terjemahan Kitab Suci. Yeshua memang wafat, tetapi bukan ketuhanan-Nya yang wafat, melainkan kemanusiannya.

Perhatikan ayat berikut ini:

1 Kor11:26 TB2 LAI: Sebab setiap kali kamu makan roti ini dan minum cawan ini, kamu memberitakan kematian Tuhan sampai Ia datang[1].

Inilah alasan mengapa mayoritas Kristen di Indonesia meyakini Tuhan mereka sempat mati. Adanya frasa “kematian Tuhan” ini sangat berbahaya! Tidak pernah ada di dalam naskah aslinya, tidak pernah diajarkan oleh ribuan komunitas di luar negeri, bahwa Tuhan umat Kristen mati, hanya sebagian Kristen di sini yang mengajarkannya.

Jadi seharusnya bagaimana terjemahan yang benar? Jawabnya adalah “kematian Tuan”, ada perbedaan jauh antara definisi kata “tuan” dan “Tuhan”. Kembali saya sarankan untuk cek KBBI sebagai kamus resmi kita. Perhatikan kalimat di dalam ayat Yunaninya sbb[2].

Perhatikan kata Kurios di sana diterjemahkan menjadi Lord dalam bahasa Inggris. Atau lengkapnya: death of the Lord (kematian Sang Tuan). Kurios tidak bisa diterjemahkan menjadi Tuhan, tetapi seharusnya Tuan. Mengapa? Karena Tuhan menggantikan kata Theos, yang artinya sesuatu yang disembah oleh manusia, cek KBBI[3]. Sementara Tuan, mengacu kepada manusia.

Padanan kata:

Kurios = Lord = Tuan

Theos = God = Tuhan

Allah = Allah = Allah (nama)

Yang mati adalah Lord/Tuan bukan God/Tuhan, perhatikan berbagai terjemahan 1 Kor 11:26 dari berbagai terjemahan bhs Inggris ini:

For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.

For every time you eat this bread and drink this cup, you are announcing the Lord’s death until he comes again.
